Term 1 2018

Cowra U3A is looking forward to another terrific year. We meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Senior Citizens Club in Railway Lane. Activities start at 9.00am with Tai Chi, Morning tea at 10.30 am and courses commence at 11.00 am.

The program for Term 1 includes a new course on The World's Greatest Geological Wonders: 36 Spectacular Sites. This looks at volcanoes, mountians, caves etc. This course will run over several terms as we look at two sites each term. Below is Santorini, a Greek Island with an active volcano.

We willcontinue with Archaeology and as with the Geological Wonders we will do a couple of sessions each term.
We began Women of Flowers in 2017 and this will continue as we look at the lives and works of 19 and 20th century women who collected and painted Australian native flowers.

Other series that will continue this term are Great Artists featuring Monet, and Australian Explorers.  Other activities are the Festival of International Understanding country - Nepal, visits to the Art Gallery, discussions on books we are reading, travel, painting and brain games. Anual membership is $30.00 per person over the age of 50 and we contribute $2.50 per morning to help with running costs. We encourage all our members to also join the Senior Citizens Club as we use their premises.
