Last week on Tuesday at Cowra U3A we had part 4 of The Islands of Bass Strait, the final of this series. On Thursday an excursion to Magpie Gallery in Cowra was scheduled but as the heavens had finally broken and given us some much needed rain we stayed at the Senior Citizens Club rooms and did a bit of clearing up of the back room which still had a lot of things that had been moved from the main hall when the floor was being resurfaced last December. We now have boxes of things for sale and to go to charity shops.
This week, Tuesday 27 May, we start the day with an hour of Tai Chi at 9.30am, at 10,30 its time for a cuppa then weekly trivia challenge which sees 4 teams competing to be the champions at the end of the year. At 11.00am we have asked members to do some research on local history so will be interesting to see what comes up.
On Thursday 9.30am Tai Chi, 10.30am Morning tea, 10.50am East West Trivia Challenge, 11.00am members have been asked to bring along information about the Hooping Crane. Each term we pick a bird or animal that has a nearby day on the Animal Holidays & Celebrations list to study.

This week at Cowra U3A
Its been a while since I posted as we have had a very busy fortnight here in Cowra celebrating the NSW Seniors Festival events. It certainly was a time to Shine.
As Cowra U3A and Cowra Seniors are members of the organising committee hosted by the wonderful Cowra Council we hosted 4 of the events and attended many others.
on March 4 we began the fortnight with 4 members attending the Cemetery Tour hosted by the Cowra Family History Group. We learnt a lot about some of Cowra's founders.
Last Tuesday we enjoyed looking at Norm's wonderful slide shows of travels in outback Western Australia . His images of wildflowers, birds and the scenery are beautiful and bring memories to some who have travelled in Western Australia and delight to those who haven't and probably wont get there.
Thanks Norm we look forward to your next adventure.
